Allan Suckling, MBA, BTech, RTMgr, is an experienced technology leader with a demonstrated history working in law enforcement technology and technology management education with a strong knowledge of law enforcement technologies, information governance, emergency management, technology strategy, not-for-profit management, and governance.
Allan has achieved a Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University, a Diploma in Executive Development from the Canadian Police College, a Bachelor of Technology degree in Technology Management and an Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma in Telecommunications; both from the BC Institute of Technology, and a BC Instructors Diploma from VCC. Allan has Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC (ASTTBC) AScT and RTMgr professional designations, has been a past member of the Board of Directors for PRIME Corp., past chair for a Program Advisory Committee at BCIT, a past member on the ASTTBC RTMgr Certification Board, and a past member of the board of directors at Terminal City Glass Co-op, an artisan glass blowing studio co-op.
Allan is a retired Government of Canada Executive with over 28 years experience with the BC RCMP, concluding as the Director General for the Information Management Technology program for the BC RCMP. This was a diverse, $60M+ annual program that is focused on Information Governance, Information Systems, Mobile Technologies, R&D and Project Management, IT Lifecycle Management, Geomatics, Data Warehouses solutions, Operational Support, Digital Strategy Enablement, and Continuous Improvement for all Information Management Technology programs Division-wide (Province of BC). Allan is also a part-time instructor for the Bachelor of Technology Management program at BCIT, leveraging his many years of technology management background to help develop the next generation of technology managers, including serving as a faculty mentor for student capstone projects.
